Welcome to Agile Objects

Welcome to Agile Objects.

This is a blog about teaching with objects.

We are two art historians, Senta German and Jim Harris.  Between us we have over thirty years of teaching experience in Higher Education, at institutions ranging from small liberal arts colleges to major international research universities in North America and the UK.

What you will find here is something of what we have learned and are learning about object-based teaching, liberally enhanced by guest posts from colleagues who have been working in the field for decades.

We hope you will also find a community in which you can discuss your own experiences and share the techniques you have learned, the challenges you have encountered – and the things you have learned to avoid.

Our mission is to encourage everyone who teaches in higher education, in every discipline, at every kind of institution, to teach with objects.
